Meredith Friday 13th

Breakfast in the Waterfall Cafe, almond French toast. Bacon egg and sausage, yum

Excellent long walk around the Hamlin Conservation Area, lunch high up overlooking the lake, our first real view of the national forest. Saw Mt Washington from another outlook having met a runner on her regular run who said it was the clearest day she had seen for a year.

Walked for 31/2 hours and only saw one person, the runner.

Huge acorns were constantly falling from on high and crashing through the branches, and landing v close. Would have hurt if they had hit, we think the squirrels were throwing them at us.

Few birds , but we were accompanied by the haunting call of the loon for much of the walk, lovely.

Another gin clear sky today.

Misty dawn over the lake after a cold night

Lunch spot on our walk, Crocket's ledge
