No call from the Laconia airfield re flight availability so after Breakfast in the Waterfall Cafe , Moultons farm with loads of pumpkins and so many different varieties. Another lovely sunny day. They did the usual range off coffees that allow you to taste the full flavor of the water, plus a Nitro Coffee, made in a process using liquid nitrogen which is supposed to make it particularly smooth. Hmmm. We bought some bits and pieces and headed up the Conway valley into the full peak of fall colors and towards the White mountains.
Lots of lovely views and stops by rivers and lakes. Photo stop at one of several covered bridges. Moose crossing and bears crossing road signs. Arrived at the Nordic Village and checked in early though room not ready. Last weekend was the busiest of the year for them - Columbus day. We went to the Red Fox for lunch. Then as suggested drove a short way to Mt Washington, and drove, yes drove 8 miles to the top. Magnificent fall colours on way up. Cloud on top - well it is billed as the place with the worst weather on earth and had the record wind speed of 231mph (the biggest wind and the best wind). We were v lucky to have seen it cloud free the day before.
Did a v short walk on the Appalachian Trail, then shopping and condo for a relaxing evening.
